Safer gambling

Gambling should be a paid-for pastime with a budget, never a way to make money. If it has become more than that, help is free.

Warning signs

When gambling stops being fun

  • Spending more money or time than you meant to.
  • Chasing losses, or borrowing to gamble.
  • Hiding gambling from people close to you.
  • Feeling anxious, low or irritable when you are not gambling.
  • Gambling to escape problems or to feel better.

If any of these sound familiar, talk to someone. It helps to speak early, and support is available for family and friends too.

In your account

How to use each tool

Where

Great Britain only

Odds Atlas is for readers in Great Britain only and is not available in Northern Ireland. The operators we list are licensed by the Gambling Commission, whose remit covers Great Britain; gambling in Northern Ireland is governed by separate law, so our listings and links are not intended for readers there.

Age

Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over

Online gambling in Great Britain is for people aged 18 and over, and licensed operators must verify age before anyone can deposit. If you share a device with children, use parental controls and keep gambling accounts logged out.
