How we rate an operator
A survey method you can check: one gate, five weighted criteria and a clear line between our reviews and how we are paid.

Before any score
The licence is a gate, not a grade
We only list operators that hold an active licence from the UK Gambling Commission. For each one we record the licensee's legal name and its Commission account number from the public register (opens in a new tab), and we link to that entry from every card, table and review. We recheck the register before a review is updated and record the date on the listing.
- An operator whose licence is suspended, surrendered or revoked is removed, not marked down.
- We do not list operators that are owned by us or by companies connected to us.
- We do not list sites licensed only abroad, operators outside the GAMSTOP scheme, or crypto-only casinos.
Five criteria
What we weigh, and how much
| Criterion | Weight | What we look at |
|---|---|---|
| Terms you can read | 25% | Is the offer's wagering, minimum deposit, expiry, maximum stake and any excluded payment method stated next to the offer, in plain words? Wagering above 10x, or one offer that mixes betting with casino, fails this criterion outright. |
| Safer gambling tools | 25% | Can you set a deposit limit during sign-up? How many clicks to a time-out or self-exclusion? Are reality checks and account history easy to find? |
| Payments and withdrawals | 20% | Which payment methods work for deposits and withdrawals, how long the operator takes to review a withdrawal, and whether it says so up front. |
| Product range | 15% | Depth of markets, games or rooms for the product you came for, and whether the rules of each game or bet type are published. |
| Support and usability | 15% | How to reach a person, at what hours, and whether the site works properly on a phone. |
Each criterion is marked from 0 to 10 by the reviewer and weighted as shown. A desk score appears on a listing only once a full review has been completed; until then you will see the licence facts and the offer terms, but no number.
Commission
What commission does, and what it does not do
Odds Atlas is paid a commission by some operators when a reader opens an account through our links. That pays for the reviews. It does not buy a place, a score or a sentence:
- Lists are alphabetical. No operator pays to be first.
- Scores come from the five criteria above. Commission is not a criterion.
- Reviewers do not see commercial terms when they write.
- Operators do not approve or edit our reviews before publication.
House style
Words we will not use
We do not call anything the best, number one or exclusive unless we can prove it, and we do not describe a bet or a bonus as risk-free. We never predict results, and we never present gambling as a way to make money or as an answer to money worries.
Mistakes happen. If you spot one, write to us through the contact page and we will correct it and note the change on the page.
